Championship Sports offers some of the most premier basketball training in the state of Michigan. One on one trainings are available, as well as small to large group trainings.
Training Rates
Individual: $40 / hr
Group 2-4: $35 / hr
Group 5-8: $25 / hr
Meet Our Trainers:
Bob Sherlock
Bob is a dynamic teacher of the game and has been working with players of all levels for over twenty-five years. As a coach, Bob spent twelve years as a division III college men’s head coach where he coached two All-Americans and his teams played in five post season tournaments. Bob has a very extensive background in working camps and clinics, including three summers in Europe. As a player, Bob was a scholastic honorable mention All-American and All-State performer out of Troy, NY Catholic Central. He went on to play at the University of Cincinnati and captained the team as a senior. While at Cincinnati, the Bearcats won two Metro Conference championships and made three trips to the NCAA tournament. Bob has the ability to break down and assess each players’ strengths and weaknesses. His approach to teaching is to build an athlete’s confidence as s/he works to improve both their skill level and understanding of the game.
Katie Elder
Katie was an all-state basketball player of Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw, MI. She attended Albion College, where she played four years of basketball under coach Doreen Carden. During her four years at Albion, Katie and her team compiled an impressive record of 80-24 with an MIAA championship and a trip to the NCAA Sweet 16. Katie is now attending CMU working on her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology. She specializes in post player training.
Marc Sroufe
Marc has over thirty-five years of coaching experience with boys and girls from elementary school through college. He is one of the founders of the Central Basketball Club, the vice-chairperson for Michigan Girl’s AAU Basketball and the state director for USSSA Basketball. He currently coaches the Michigan Girls’ Basketball Report (MGBR) 18U basketball team which won the 2009 Michigan Girls AAU State Championship. Marc specializes in shooting techniques using the NOAH Shooting System as well as post player instruction.
