Morey Courts will be offering a new tennis program starting this March!

The Morey Courts Youth Team Tennis program is for girls and boys between the ages of 7-10. Whether or not your child has ever held a racquet, there’s a spot on the team for them!

League Season:
Season will be played on Fridays starting March 9 through April 20 (no session on April 6). Instruction will be provided by tennis instructor Jeri Reid.

Cost:
The cost of the program is $75 for members and $85 for non-members.  Fee includes team uniform, foam ball, age appropriate tennis racquet, 1 yr USTA Junior Membership, subscription to Bounce or SMASH Magazine, Ace’s Kids club package including an activity book, birthday card, sweat band, and other fun tennis items!

Free Tennis Play Day!!
Join us for a Free 10 and under tennis play day on Friday, February 3 from 4pm-6pm. Come enjoy a day of tennis, games, and more!

Registration:
Registration is done through the USTA website at www.midwestteamtennis.com
Regular price registration ends February 10th, after Feb. 10th, $10 late fee applies. Final Day for registration is March 4th!

Isabella County Residents! It’s time to GET SLIM!

Come to Morey Courts Recreation Center on January 11th, 2012 from 6AM-9AM or 4PM-7PM for the first weigh in!
Second weigh-in will be on February 8th, 2012. Top 10 will advance for the next  weigh-ins.

Winners are determined based on the percentage of body weight lost during the competition period from January 11th through April 22nd, 2012.

First Prize: $10,000 and an annual Morey Courts Fitness Membership!

Second Prize: $2,500 and a six month Morey Courts Fitness Membership!

All participants are eligible for a second-chance prize of $3,000 on August 12th, 2012!

Slim to Win FAQs

Q: How much does it cost to participate?
A: NOTHING! Slim to Win is FREE to all Isabella County year round residents over the age of 25!!

Q: Do you have to be a member of Morey Courts to participate?
A: Nope! Membership is not required. We would suggest joining a gym to help lose the pounds though (we like ours!)

Q: Do I have to weigh-in at Morey Courts on the specified dates and times?
A: Yes. Certified Trainers and a member of the Morey Foundation will record weights. Weigh ins will be held in the privacy of the Morey Courts Locker Rooms. If you weigh in during the first date, you are eligible to win the “second chance” prize in August even if you do not attend the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weigh in. You must attend all weigh-ins to be eligible t win 1st and second prizes and participate with the Top 10!

Q:Will everyone be eligible for the August weigh-in?
A:Yes. Everyone who weighs in on Jan. 11th will still qualify for the $3,000 prize in August. This encourages a sustained healthy lifestyle! We hope that if you do not qualify for the $10,000 that you will still be encouraged to continue on with staying healthy! The $3,000 is just icing on the cake! :)

Q: Will there be any incentive offered to join Morey Courts Recreation Center at this time?
A: Yes! Participants of Slim To Win will be offered 1 month: $30 Weight and Fitness memberships or $40 Full memberships. This offer is only good for one month. This offer will ONLY be available on January 11th!

Morey Courts will  be running our $1 after school special again! Grade school students will be able to use the facility after school until 5:30pm for only $1! Fitness Center is available to after school participants until 4:30pm. Students under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian. Students 12 and under must have adult supervision. Students 14 and older may use the fitness center on their own.
